5 Days of Hunza Tour

Departure from Islamabad to Gilgit by flight. Meet & greet @ the airport transfer to Hunza. It’s a 03-Hours Scenic Drive on Economic Corridor; a short stop at Rakaposhi view point Restaurant with breathtaking view of Rakaposhi Mountain. It’s a beautiful place to spend 30 minutes on the way to Hunza. After arrival in Hunza transfer to Hotel. Afternoon Visit to Altit Fort & Baltit Fort. Altit fort is situated in the village of Altit about three kilometers from Karimbabd Hunza. It has been built on a sheer rock cliff that falls 300 meters (1,000 feet) into the Indus river. The fort is a 100 years older than the Baltit Fort and wears at one time inhabited by the ruling family.
Today there is a museum built within the Fort for the tourist. A trip to the Baltit & Altit is must while your tour to Hunza Valley.
Baltit Fort; Built in Eleventh-century, located 2800 m to the summits of the Himalayas, was built at the time, enemies and withstands frequent earthquakes. Until 1950, the fort was the residence of the Mirs of Hunza, but was then left to perish. The recent restoration, proposed by the Aga Khan Trust has carefully respecting the original construction techniques. Although rain is rare in the Hunza valley; still is irrigated by an ingenious system of canals fed by ancient glaciers. Dinner & Overnight at Hunza Hotel.

Day 1

Fly from Islamabad to Gilgit, then enjoy a scenic 3-hour drive on the Economic Corridor to Hunza, pausing at the Rakaposhi viewpoint restaurant for a captivating view. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel, followed by an afternoon visit to the ancient Altit Fort and Baltit Fort, each steeped in history. Conclude the day with a delightful dinner and an overnight stay at a charming Hunza hotel.

Day 2

Begin the day with breakfast, driving to the awe-inspiring Khunjerab Pass, nestled in the Khunjerab National Park—Pakistan’s 3rd largest. After lunch at Sust PTDC, explore Sust village near the China border before heading to the iconic Passu cones, a captivating blend of ancient civilization and natural wonders. Pause for a photo at this beautiful village, then journey to Attabad Lake for a scenic boat ride. Marvel at the lake’s beauty, formed in 2010 by a massive landslide. Return to Hunza for an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3

Start your day with breakfast and a thrilling jeep ride to Nagar Valley, crossing the Hunza River. Marvel at the stunning terraced fields and orchards as the jeep winds through picturesque villages. At Hoper, disembark to witness the Hoper Glacier, with an optional hike offering panoramic views of Kapal and Golden peaks. Return to Hunza Karimabad and, in the afternoon, explore Duiker village, known as the Eagles Nest, for a breathtaking view of Hunza Valley and a mesmerizing sunset. At an elevation of 10,000 feet, Duiker offers a splendid vantage point for sunrise as well. Conclude the day with a late evening drive back to Karimabad for an overnight stay in a Hunza hotel.

Day 4

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before traveling to Gilgit. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and, in the afternoon, pay a poignant visit to the Chinese Graveyard, also known as China Yadgar. This memorial park honors the Chinese engineers and workers who dedicated their lives to constructing the Karakoram Highway in the 1960s and 1970s. Located in Danyore Town, Gilgit District, take some free time for shopping at NLI market and a stroll across the old suspension bridge over the Gilgit River. Conclude the day with an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5

After breakfast, transfer to Gilgit airport for your flight to Islamabad, concluding an enriching journey that includes a 3-night stay in Hunza and 1 night in Gilgit. Explore historic sites such as Altit and Baltit Forts, marvel at Khunjerab Pass, Passu Cones, and Attabad Lake. Discover the wonders of Nagar Valley, including Hopper Glaciers and Duiker Valley. Visit the poignant Chinese Graveyard, shop at NLI Market, and stroll across the Suspension Bridge.
